Throughout 3 lessons we watched the movie "the matrix". Our teacher then found out that some of the people in our class did not know why we watched the matrix. So after some brainstorming and collaboration, everybody had to write a short paragraph on why we watched the matrix. Here is mine:

We watched the matrix because it shows a clear example of paradigms and paradigm shifts. It also fit right in with what we were learning at the time. This movie also showed multiple views and questioned the very things that we are taught to believe. It also was a fun and engaging way to learn the laws of Philosophy; Choice, Fate, Freedom and Knowledge.

After this the we all looked at some film reviews and how they can differ with different people's perspective on the movie. We were then asked to write a film review of our own on the matrix. Here is mine:

“The Matrix” is a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma tied with the pretty ribbon of obscurity. This is perfectly shown through the superior acting of Keanu Reeves, Laurence Fishburne, Hugo Weaving and Carrie-Anne Moss and the leading action producer Joel Silver. Before going into details, this movie is certainly an 11/10 for production, SFX, FX, action sequences and story plot. This is easily seen in the massive impact it made on pop culture. Although this movie did take multiple things from movies around the same time like “dark city” and “Strange days” it still has it’s own flare and thus makes it my second favorite movie ever.

To give you a rough idea of how the story goes, you start of with the main character, Mr Anderson. a humble, hardworking program developer by day. Neo, a feared hacker by night. This is also shown in the minimalist acting of Keanu Reeves and his crew. After he gets called by an international criminal called Morpheus he is forced to make a massive decision, whether he wants to live his life as is, or whether to learn the dangerous and confusing truth.
