Hey there reader this is my second post, and it is about the two creation myths that I compared in class. We all did a presentation and showed the similarities and differences between two different creation myths.

The two creation stories that I chose were the Greek's creation myth of Gaia and my personal favorite religion's creation myth, that being the Nordic creation myths. For some reason I always liked the epic battles struggles and complexity of the Nordic beliefs. Anyway, before I go off on a tangent, here is what I found:

Similarities:

- Both of the creation myths the start showed nothing but darkness or chaos

- In both stories the world that we live on was either coming out of the nothingness or created by higher beings of great power

- Another common theme was that very powerful people, usually the father of all the greater beings turns evil and must be defeated by either their siblings or relatives

Differences:

- In the Greek creation myth, the elements are embodied by people such as Gaia who is literally the earth. Whereas in the Nordic creation myth the things that we see on earth were all made by the body parts of a dead giant

- In the Greek creation myth the first humans were imperfect as they were made by a banished titan, yet in the Nordic creation myth the first humans were made by gods and therefor were perfect
